Salsa Rocks Leeds organise weekly salsa classes and parties in Leeds city centre, guest workshops with some of the best specialist teachers and frequent trips to salsa events and congresses in the UK and all over the World!

Salsa is one of the most expressive, rich and accessible forms of dance. People from all backgrounds and cultures are welcomed with open arms. We want to see our scene become a more expansive, progressive and passionate community of dancers than Leeds has ever seen before, brought together by friendships, shenanigans, and a love for dance.

When it comes to Salsa, Leeds has something for everyone! Beginners Welcome. No Partner Required! We run our Salsa Classes in Leeds City Centre every Wednesday for absolute beginners (Level 1) up to intermediate (Level 5), at Kerala Restaurant from 8pm. If you want to learn to dance Salsa you've definitely come to the right place!

OUR Classes

At Salsa Rocks Leeds we bring you friendly Salsa classes with a skilled team of Salsa addicts, and cracking socials where you can dance your heart our. We absolutely love Salsa - the dance, the music, even the sauce, and we hope to make you fall in love with all of it too! Our classes are fun, but still progression focused, where we aim to help our students get the most enjoyment out of Salsa dancing. You focus on having fun, and we'll take care of your learning.

While most salsa classes in Leeds put all the emphasis on learning moves, turn patterns or routines, we offer a unique combination of two salsa classes at each level - an in-depth technique class and a separate class to build your repertoire of moves.

The salsa technique classes emphasize on how the moves and movements in salsa should feel and how to make every move smoother, effortless and enjoyable. We cover elements like balance, grounding, momentum, connection and a lot more - all that will help you squeeze out every last drop of fun from every dance!

The moves classes complement this by giving you new and exciting combinations week after week, where you have more fun playing with all that you learnt in the technique class and push yourselves with harder moves.

OUR SOCIALS

The Salsa Social was Salsa Rocks Leeds' first ever venture. Until a few years back it was getting harder and harder to find authentic salsa music for dancers in Leeds. So the dancers decided to start their own social. It started off as, and still remains THE social cial is known for pulling in Salsa music lovers not just from Leeds but also from Sheffield, York and Manchester to dance to the tunes of our resident DJ Mark. We're happy that our social continues to have a great friendly vibe with newbies and the pros enjoying their dances together. Its not about who's got the most moves, but about who's got the biggest smiles. We take pride in keeping the dancefloor filled playing the best of authentic Salsa styles including Salsa dura, romantica, Mambo, Guaguanco, Pachanga. A shiny wooden dancefloor, superb sound system and our reasonably priced private bar make this a perfect social for Salsa addicts.
