We have a huge dancefloor, but places are limited to 16 to ensure that you get the most out of this workshop. Please get in touch as soon as possible to book your spot.
Aimed at those who are new to Cha cha or those who already dance Cha cha but would like to build their confidence about timing and strengthen their fundamentals, so they can enjoy dancing Cha cha even more!
We will start with the most important thing - the music. No long theory or lectures, but straight into dancing. We'll start with listening and moving to the rhythms that will make you feel and hear the "cha cha". Before even starting with the cha cha basic step, we'll spend time enjoying this groovy rhythm and explore how our bodies "want to" move when we hear a Cha cha track. The footwork and the partnerwork sections will build up from this.
Here's a summary of the workshop:
13:00 - 14:00
- Identifying the sounds of the cowbell, guiro and moving to the rhythms.
- Isolations and basic steps done to the Cha cha rhythm focussing on the guiro and cowbell.
14:00 - 15:00
- Core Cha cha shines
- Core Cha cha partnerwork moves
15:00 - 16:00
- Putting everything together into a routine (30 mins)
- Guided practice (30 mins)
